Kimi Slides
How Kimi's deck tool fits next to PowerPoint, and what it spends.
Kimi Slides, Kimi PPT, agentic slides
Kimi Slides is Kimi's presentation feature. Searches for Kimi PPT and Kimi agentic slides land on the same product: you describe the talk, and Kimi drafts a deck. Agentic, in Kimi's wording, means the run can take several steps (outline, then slides, then a file) instead of answering with a single block of text. The membership update rules list PPT among the features that share one credit pool with docs, sheets, research, Kimi Code, Kimi Work, and Kimi Claw.
The output is still a slide deck, which is a stack of slides in a fixed order. If you need the plain definition of that stack, it is on deck slides. Kimi does not replace PowerPoint or Google Slides as the file you present from. You still open the exported file in the program you present with, fix type size, and check every number.
What to put in the prompt
Name the audience, the time you have, and the decision you want. 'Ten slides for a 12-minute update to a finance team, ending in a request to approve a vendor' is a brief. 'Make a PPT' is not. Add the facts that must appear, and say which claims are still unknown so the draft does not invent a figure. A generated deck will happily write a precise percentage you never provided.
For a class assignment that has to look like APA, do not expect the model to apply the manual by magic. Build the title slide, the citations, and the reference slide from the APA PowerPoint page, then ask Kimi to draft the middle slides in that shape. For a folder of source files on your computer, Kimi Work can start from those files. Web chat starts from what you paste or upload.
Credits and the file you keep
Slides draw on the membership pool. The overview lists Slides with the other paid tools. A long agentic deck costs more than a short outline because it uses more tokens. If a run stops, the update-rules page says new tasks show an insufficient-credit notice while a task already in progress can finish. Plan limits are on pricing.
Keep the file. Download the deck and store it with your other talk files. A later model change will not preserve your wording. Before you present, read every slide out loud once. Generated slides repeat the prompt, over-capitalize, and cite sources that do not exist. Those are editing problems, and they are yours after the download.
Questions
- What is Kimi Slides?
- Kimi's tool for drafting a presentation from a prompt. Kimi PPT and Kimi agentic slides refer to that same feature. The result is a deck you export and present in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides.
- Does Kimi PPT cost extra?
- It uses the shared membership credit pool, according to Kimi's update-rules page. It is not a separate PPT subscription. See the pricing page for the $19 to $199 tiers.
- Can Kimi make an APA deck?
- It can draft slides, but APA Style is a citation system for scholarly work, not a theme file inside Kimi. Follow the APA PowerPoint page for the title slide and the reference slide, and check every citation.
- Is a Kimi deck the same as a slide deck?
- A slide deck is the generic name for the file: ordered slides. Kimi Slides is one way to produce that file. The meaning of deck slides is explained on its own page.
