Kimi OK Computer
The September 2025 agent mode, and the names Kimi uses for it now.
OK Computer was the first agent mode
Kimi's help center dates the first agent product mode to 26 September 2025 and calls it OK Computer. The description there is specific: instead of a fixed workflow a person designed in advance, the agent builds its own picture of how to finish a complicated task, picks tools, and changes course while it runs. A search for Kimi OK Computer or OK Computer AI is this feature, not a music album and not a separate company.
The name stuck in search even after the product language moved on. The same help page now talks about Kimi Agent, then about K2.6, Agent Swarm, and Kimi Claw. If you are looking for the switch inside the product in 2026, start with Kimi Agent and Agent Swarm, not with an old OK Computer installer.
What changed after that launch
On 27 January 2026 Moonshot released Kimi K2.5 and introduced Agent Swarm, a way to run many subagents on one task without pre-assigning their roles. On 20 April 2026 the help center says K2.6 raised that ceiling to 300 subagents at once and more than 4,000 tool calls in a single task, and that the parallel run can be up to 4.5 times faster than one agent doing the steps in order. Those figures are Moonshot's, from that help page.
Kimi Claw is the later cloud piece. The agent overview describes a public beta in mid-February 2026: an always-on agent you start in the browser, without standing up a server or Docker on your own machine. Kimi Claw is the page for that. OK Computer, in short, is the ancestor of these modes, not a second app you have to find.
How to try the current version
On the web, Kimi's Agent Swarm help page points to the agent swarm entry on kimi.com. On a phone or tablet, the same page says to open the Kimi app and pick the swarm model in the switch above the chat box. A paid membership is what unlocks swarm on the pricing table; the free row is marked without it. See pricing before you assume a button is broken.
OK Computer AI, as a query, also pulls in people who want any computer-using agent. Kimi's version that clicks a logged-in browser is WebBridge plus Kimi Work, not the 2025 chat mode by itself. Match the name to the job: chat agent, parallel swarm, or desktop control.
Questions
- Is OK Computer still a separate Kimi product?
- Kimi's help center presents OK Computer as the agent mode launched on 26 September 2025. Later pages describe Agent, Agent Swarm, and Kimi Claw as the current ways to run that kind of task.
- What does OK Computer AI mean?
- In Kimi's own writing it means the agent that plans a multi-step task and chooses tools, as opposed to a single reply in chat. It is not a general name for every AI on a PC.
- Where do I turn it on?
- Use the agent or swarm entry on kimi.com, or the model switch in the Kimi app, as the Agent Swarm help page describes. Membership level controls whether swarm is included.
- How is this different from Kimi Work?
- OK Computer and Agent Swarm run tasks from the chat product. Kimi Work is the desktop app that can also touch local files and a logged-in browser through the extension.
